DAY 1 - CARTAGENA
Arrival to Rafael Núñez International Airport of Cartagena; here you will be met by your English speaking local guide, which will take you with a private transfer to your hotel. Cartagena, Colombia’s most popular destination, was founded in 1533 by Spanish Conquistador Don Pedro de Heredia as “Cartagena de Indias”. This beautiful colonial city rapidly became the gem of the Spanish Crown’s territories, to protect it from continuous attacks by pirates, the largest wall fortress in America was built around it. Cartagena hides Colonial, Republican and Italian architectural treasures in its residential, commercial, religious, military and governmental constructions. Cartagena de Indias was declared by UNESCO a World Heritage Site because of its colonial walled city. The real joy of Cartagena is exploring it’s exhilarating narrow streets by foot or on a horse-carriage, an experience that awakens all senses with the flavors and beauty of its sunset, making it an incredibly romantic destination and the most fascinating Caribbean hidden treasure. DAY 2 - CARTAGENA
Full day Cartagena walking & panoramic city tour. After breakfast, start a guided walking tour in the historic center of the city, called the walled city; stroll through the colonial streets, appreciate the Hispanic influence in the architecture, admire the colorful buildings, and breathe the magical atmosphere of this unique place. The tour begins at Bolivar Park shaded by large trees, four fountains with a statue of the great Liberator in the middle. Surrounding the square is the Gold Museum, which exhibits its fine collection of archeological objects dating back to the pre-Hispanic period; and the Inquisition Palace, recognizable for its large baroque door. The Inquisition held its meetings in the palace here and it was also the site of the prison and torture chambers for presumed heretics, opponents of the Catholic church. The visit continues to Santo Domingo church, the Cathedral and ends at the Terraces and the Museum of the City’s Fortifications. In the afternoon, you will go for a panoramic guided tour; tour begins with panoramic view of the city from ‘La Popa’ Monastery and Church constructed in 1606, located at 140masl enjoy 360° views of the city, sea and port zone. Continue to ‘San Felipe’ castle-fortress built on ‘San Lázaro’ hill to defend the city from pirate attacks. Walk-around the fortress and see the castle tunnels, underground galleries and passageways. The tour ends in ‘the Vaults’ of the walled city, archways built within the walled-city used until late 1700s to store armament and later as prison in the XIX century. Nowadays, it’s an artisans’ center to appreciate local handcrafts. Transfer back to the hotel. Accommodation.

DAY 4 - CARTAGENA
Full day tour to Rosario Islands – San Pedro de Majagua. Today you will spend the day in the famous beautiful archipelago of “Rosario Islands”, precisely in San Pedro de Majagua. Located at 45km southeast, approximately one hour from Cartagena bay, the national park of Rosario Island is surrounded by coral reefs and lapped by clear blue waters and is the natural habitat for a large variety of marine fauna. Three ecosystems thrive here: coastal lagoons, mangroves surrounding them and tropical forest. Once arrived in San Pedro de Majagua, you will find the homonym hotel, a very nice structure which will put at your disposal deckchairs, and where you will be served a typical lunch. In the island you will have free time for snorkeling and relaxation. At the scheduled time, take the boat back to Cartagena pier and then your private transfer to the hotel. Accommodation.

DAY 5 - CARTAGENA
After breakfast, at the scheduled time, you will be picked up at the hotel and taken to Rafael Núñez International Airport of Cartagena.
